Michaella McCollum, the Peru Two drugs mule, looks drastically different in recent ʙικιɴι pH๏τos ten years after her arrest.

Peru Two drugs mule Michaella McCollum’s life is world’s apart from what it was in the hell-hole Ancon 2 prison – she’s been spending plenty of time at the beach with her kids this summer

Peru Two drugs mule Michaella McCollum looks unrecognisable in new glam ʙικιɴι snaps.

A decade ago, she was detained at Lima Airport alongside friend Melissa Reid for carrying 12kg of cocaine worth £1.5million.

The Northern Irish lᴀss, then 19, was charged for smuggling drugs and sentenced to six years eight months in jail – and she ended up serving more than two years in the grim Ancon 2 prison.

But judging by recent Instagram pictures, the 29-year-old’s life is a lot different nowadays. Not only is she a mum-of-two, she also seems to be much more care-free.

In her “Summer ’23 archive”, shared with her 104,000 followers, she kicks back at the beach, dresses up for dinner and enjoys plenty of family time.

One pH๏τo shows her posing in a bright yellow ʙικιɴι as the waves lap around her ankles, while another shows her sitting in a restaurant with a slinky blue dress on.

Michaella’s followers are pleased to see her looking so content with life. One wrote: “What a beautiful summer you have had.”

A second gushed: “You look absolutely incredible Michaella. Stunning.” And another swooned: “Beautiful”.

And a fourth added: “Great pH๏τos. Adorable boys with their beautiful, loving mama.”

As well as appreciating life’s pleasures, Michaella has been working hard in recent years.

She has celebrated her graduation from the University of Ulster with a diploma in Business Management, Marketing and Related Support Services.

While graduating, she had her six-year-old twin boys by her side – Rio and Rafael. She also prepared to start working at a veterinary recruitment firm.

As well as this, Michaella has written two memoirs about her Peru ordeal – You’ll Never See Daylight Again and High. The former was later turned into a five-part BBC/Netflix series that she narrated.

Speaking about her change of direction since being released from prison, Micahella told Good Morning Britain: “I actually didn’t even think about the consequences of what that would do to society or myself and my family… I wasn’t thinking at all.

“It was just so stupid. When you’re young, you don’t know it all. I made a dreadful mistake and I regret it.

“What prison taught me made me who I am today and that’s a better person than I would have been otherwise. I am a mam now and I am going to get on with being the best one I can.”
