EXCLUSIVE: Sophie Rhyder, 19, works as a cam girl and she loves speaking to up to 50 blokes a day. In her job, she keeps blokes company and they do favours in return
Being a cam girl is harder than people think – with one performer speaking to up to 50 blokes within a few hours.
Sophie Rhyder, 19, trained in psychology and criminology, but now she has a very different career. The online star, who is from Romania but now lives in Manchester, makes over £5,000 a month on one of the world’s biggest Sєx streaming platforms – LiveJasmin.
She uses her education to act as a confidant for her clients – and said there are times when she feels more like a therapist than a model. For her – she thinks a lot of men just want a little more company.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Sophie said she thinks the service really helps people to overcome loneliness. And in return, the blokes have even helped her with household tasks.
She said: “When it comes to loneliness, being able to speak with a model whenever you want is very convenient. Plus, if you create a deeper bond with a model, as I have with my members, you get to enjoy the best parts of a relationship without the frustrations.
She continued: “”I want my members to have the best experiences possible and being genuine intensifies our bond in the best way. This is one of the reasons people stick with me – they can see I’m real.
“Some men are also insecure and being able to communicate from the comfort of their own home, behind a username, is definitely easier than being vulnerable and exposed in the real world.
“As a model, I don’t mind being watched naked or getting intimate. When it comes to members, it’s completely up to them if they want to reveal themselves.
“However, once they get to know me, around 85% choose to show me their face or body either through pH๏τos or video calls. It makes the experience so much more enjoyable and relaxed.”
Sophie enjoys telling her members about her day, her achievements and even her own issues. She said her degree and life experience both help her do her job.
For her, it’s both mentally stimulating and, at the same time, mentally draining. If she streams for 11 hours a day, she talks to at least 50 men. While some are quick chats, others are more meaningful conversations.
“My knowledge is what makes me stand out and it gives me little tricks to understand members before they fully open up,” she added. “It’s also helpful when it comes to their fetishes, because I know kinks stem from a certain experience in the past, and it’s easier for me to understand without judgement.
“Everyone has led a unique life and I’m here to provide, not look down on people. I even had some of them fix my boiler through video calls when it broke down.”
Sophie also loves the financial freedom of being a cam girl. She said she’s able to enjoy life a lot more now. Even though money doesn’t buy happiness, it has offered her a lot of comfort.
Before she focused on the saucy career, there were times when she had to cut back on spending. Now she feels she can relax a bit more, and make the most out of her earnings.
She explained: “I’ve been able to go on luxurious holidays last minute, without thinking about possible financial distress or whether I can get time off. Curating my own schedule means I can recover when I’m not feeling well, rather than being forced to work.
“People might judge, but can anyone really say they wouldn’t want to be able to fly abroad whenever they want or buy a car without it being a life-altering decision? This lifestyle isn’t for everyone and that’s ok, but it’s 100% for me.”
