Ebanie Bridges to face Miss Swimsuit winner as opponent, known for sharing enticing pH๏τos with fans

Former Miss Swimsuit winner Avril Mathie has been unveiled as Ebanie Bridges’ next opponent, and the adult content star has chops of her own when it comes to competing in the ring

Boxing romantics will get another glimpse at Ebanie Bridges in action on December 9 after the Australian champ confirmed her next opponent.

Fellow adult content producer Avril Mathie will have the pleasure of stepping up to face ‘The Blonde Bomber’ in San Francisco this winter. In what is being considered ‘the H๏τtest boxing match of all time’, the pair of 10s will look to earn some perfect scores on the judges cards when they collide at the Chase Center just before Christmas.

And while the climate outside the ring may be at a low for the west coast, the two contenders will ensure the temperatures remains high as far as their fight is concerned. And that’s without mentioning what’s sure to be an unmissable weigh-in between two of the most beautiful talents in the sport.

But neither of the Sydney-born stars are merely a pretty face, as Bridges’ IBF bantamweight world championship will attest. And this won’t be Mathie’s first time competing for a major belt, either.

Despite being a Muay Thai fighter and kickboxer by trade, the 36-year-old picked up boxing around 2012 while recovering from a foot injury. Little did she know that 11 years later, she’s be facing Ramla Ali for the IBF Inter-Continental super-bantamweight тιтle in New York.

Despite losing via unanimous decision on that occasion, the former Miss Swimsuit will have another sH๏τ at silverware when she faces compatriot Bridges for her own IBF crown in less than two months. Defeat to Ali marked the first loss on Mathie’s record, which now stands at 8-1-1.

It’s a startling tale of success given Mathie left her family home at the age of 15 following a fall-out with her parents. The brunette beauty had dreams of juggling academia with her love of sport, which led to her striking out on her own and completing her last year of high school while supporting herself.

“Me at 15, I knew I could do it all and I did,” she told talkSPORT earlier in 2023. “But that wasn’t going to happen under their roof and I was very stubborn and independent, so I wasn’t willing to compromise on their rules and that led to them saying ‘get out’, and I did and I succeeded. My parents and I are great friends now, but there was a period of turmoil.”

It was in 2014 that Mathie was named Miss Swimsuit USA International, and she had the opportunity to move to the United States for modelling around the same time. And although she jumped at the chance, the former gym co-owner always had boxing in mind as her first priority in making the move.

Fair to say the transition was a success, and Mathie has become as well known for her talents inside the ring as those out of it. From fighting on the undercard of Amanda Serrano’s undisputed featherweight тιтle clash with Erika Cruz, she’s ready to make the step up to main-event status in December.

Bridges will be the toughest task of her boxing career to date after more than a decade in the ring. And despite both being late arrivals to the sport, the prettiest pair in pugilism appear destined to put on a visual feast – in more ways than one.
